In our own nursery we would always really struggle to get parents engaged with the children’s profiles. when it comes time to pick up and drop off they really didn’t want to spend the time coming into the nursery to leaf through a big fat folder.
With Learning Journals parents are able to log into their child’s profile at any time and comment and interact with their learning.
They can also upload their own home observations or achievements from home.
In our own nursery (registered for just over 50 children) we usually have anywhere from 3-500 interactions from parents per month, all of which is great for your team and as evidence that you have a strong link between the nursery and home.
Informed
So often in our own nursery we heard that parents wanted to know more about the learning that was taking place with their children. It's so hard to convey just how much learning happens all the time!
Learning Journals gives them a little window into the nursery. An observation containing photos or a video is the perfect way to show how children interact with their friends, with activities you've planned and the great education you are providing.
Easy Access
Whether they are at work, at home, on their phone or laptop, on the bus or a train, parents are able to access their child's profile. They aren't restricted by the type of device or operating system they use.
Updates about new observations prompt parents to take part by leaving a comment and they can securely upload their own photos directly from their phone or computer.
Secure and Safe
Parents only have access to their own child's profile. With the use of username, password and PIN combinations that only the parents can ever know they can be confident that the content is only visible to staff. When their child leaves they can export all their data, photos and videos to keep forever.
